Three employees of Russian Embassy declared undesirable persons on territory of Moldova
Three employees of the Russian Embassy have been declared undesirable persons on the territory of Moldova. Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) today delivered a note to this effect to the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov.
“These diplomats are expected to leave the country. The decision of the Moldovan authorities is based on clear evidence of activities contrary to the diplomatic status on the territory of Moldova,” MAE said.
MAE today at 16:00 summoned the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, after the leadership of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) had informed that lawmaker Alexandr Nesterovschi was in the Transnistrian region, under the direct protection of the Russian special services.
At a news conference, SIS Director Alexandru Musteata emphasized that he held confirmed information regarding the involvement of the authorities of the Russian Federation, including the special services and the Russian Embassy in Moldova, in aiding citizen Alexandr Nesterovschi to evade national law enforcement.
SIS specifies that Alexandr Nesterovschi is part of the criminal network coordinated by Ilan Shor, who is also evading a 15-year prison sentence.
