Over 7,400 applications on children's enrollment in first form submitted in Moldovan capital
Over 7,400 applications for enrolling children in the first grade have been submitted Chisinau during one month. The registrations started on 3 March on the platform https://escoala.chisinau.md.
According to Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports of the Moldovan capital, this year, 9,590 children are expected to enroll in the first grade.
“On 30 April, the first stage of children's enrollment ends and on 16 May, the lists of children enrolled in educational institutions for the first grade will be posted. During May 5-14, parents are to submit physical files to the institutions,” said Andrei Pavaloi.
According to the municipality, all children from the respective school district, who have reached the age of seven till the beginning of the school year, are mandatorily enrolled in the first grade without entrance exams, including children of Moldovan citizens abroad, EU citizens, foreigners and children from refugee families.
The enrollment procedure takes place in two stages. In the first stage, March 3 - April 30, the submission, completion and validation of applications and enrollment documents for children who turn seven by September 1, 2025, takes place. It is mandatory that the child's residence address matches the school district.
In the second stage, May 19 - 30, 2025, the submission, completion and validation of enrollment documents for children from the school district, who will turn seven by the start of the school year and have not been enrolled in the first stage, will occur. Also, children who will turn seven between during September 1- December 31, 2025, and children from other school districts will be enrolled for the remaining available places.
Exceptional cases of children, who have not been enrolled in the first grade during the two stages, will be examined by the schooling committees, upon the individual request of parents, during August 20 -30, 2025, within the limits of remaining available places.
