Strengthening Moldova-U.S. relations topic of discussion in Washington
Ambassador of Moldova to the USA Viorel Ursu attended an official reception organized by the U.S. Department of State, on the occasion of the United States' Independence Day. During the event, the Moldovan diplomat exchanged opinions with American Senator Marco Rubio.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on strengthening the strategic relationship between Moldova and the United States of America, with an emphasis on security cooperation and the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Eastern European region.
“I expressed my deep gratitude for the efforts made to bring peace to our region, acknowledging how difficult it is to stop a war. It was also a moment of reflection on the strong partnership between Moldova and the United States,” said Ambassador Viorel Ursu.
The Independence Day is celebrated annually in the United States on July 4 and commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence from 1776.
