VIDEO // Over 400 employees of Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense and National Road Administration involved in clearing access to social institutions

Over 400 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the National Road Administration (AND) carried out actions to clear access routes to social institutions in 352 localities across the country.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexandru Bejan urged citizens to avoid non‑essential travel in order to prevent injuries.

“We have mobilized to face the challenges that have arisen in the context of weather conditions. In total, over 400 employees have been mobilized and deployed to the most vulnerable locations: hospitals, apartment courtyards, pedestrian crossings, which are to be cleared in order to prevent injuries. A total of 35 pieces of equipment are involved in this process. The actions are being carried out in Chișinău, Bălți, Comrat, Căușeni, Ungheni, as well as Cahul, where our colleagues – including police officers, border police, carabineers, firefighters and rescuers – have mobilized to support citizens. We also ask economic agents to ensure the cleaning of the adjacent territory around the locations where they operate, so that we can avoid risk situations for the population,” said Bejan.

By 12:00, the 112 Service had registered 1,336 calls. Road workers continue to be on duty to clear national routes, and the AND Operative Service is available around the clock for information and intervention requests: (+373) 78 337 744 or (+373) 60 477 117.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service, the yellow alert continues until 9 February 20:00, and weather conditions may affect road traffic.
