European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos participated today in official opening of the first edition of Product of Edineț - Tradition, Taste and Innovation fair, an event that brought together about 30 entrepreneurs and artisans from the region.
Kos highlighted the continuous support of the European Union for local development and the community. Through grants provided via the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), the EU supports entrepreneurs to strengthen businesses, develop skills and harness opportunities, including in the European market.
"The launched platform allows the development of a mobile and adaptable framework that facilitates the exposure and sale of local products, offering producers direct access to consumers. When local businesses thrive, the entire community benefits," said Marta Kos.
The initiative took place with the support of the EU4Moldova: Local Communities program - Team Europe initiative, funded by the European Union and the governments of Germany, Austria and Poland.
Kos emphasized that the Dream Island is a symbol of the European Union's commitment to communities and people, highlighting that through unity and collaboration, we build the future of Europe together.
The initiative is part of the EU project, Edineț - city with future perspective.
Marta Kos will be in the Republic of Moldova for three days. The official will visit Bălți, Edineț, Orhei, Ungheni, Cahul and Comrat.
