Minister of Agriculture expected in Parliament

Parliamentary opposition MPs today submitted a simple motion against Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga. They officially asked her to come to Parliament to provide explanations.

The motion was signed by 42 members of the parliament.

Previously, Ludmila Catlabuga announced that she would go to Parliament to present her report.

“I have something to report,” the minister said.

According to the legislation, a simple motion is a tool through which Parliament expresses its stance on an issue of internal or external policy and can be initiated by at least 15 deputies.

According to the procedure, the motion must contain the reasoning and the operative part and is submitted to the president of the Parliament session.

Upon receipt, the president informs the deputies about the motion, sets the date of the debate, and forwards it to the Government.

The debate will take place within 14 working days from the submission, with the approval of the relevant committee.

The adoption of the simple motion is done with the vote of the majority of the present deputies, and the decision is published in the Official Journal.
