Moldova, Israel join forces in emergency medicine, health innovation

The Institute of Emergency Medicine of Moldova and the Meir Medical Center of Israel have signed a memorandum of understanding that provides for bilateral cooperation in the fields of emergency medicine, medical education, research and health innovation.

The agreement today was signed in Kfar Saba, Israel, by the Director of Meir Medical Center Jacob Chen and Ambassador Moldova to the State of Israel Alexandr Roitman, on behalf of the Institute of Emergency Medicine in Chisinau.

According to the Director of the Emergency Medicine Institute, Diana Manea, the document represents an important step in developing the institution’s international cooperation, providing new opportunities for professional training, exchange of expertise and access to international best medical practices, to the benefit of patients and the health system of Moldova.

For his part, Professor Jacob Chen emphasized that the partnership reflects Meir Medical Center’s commitment to sharing its expertise in emergency medicine, medical education and innovation, contributing to the development of modern medical solutions and to strengthening international cooperation in the field of health.

The memorandum aims to strengthen collaboration in the field of emergency medicine and advanced medical services through exchange of expertise, professional training and joint projects’ development. The areas of cooperation include organizing courses and lectures for medical and administrative staff, professional consultancy, collaboration in managing complex medical cases, facilitating patients’ access to rehabilitation services, implementing research projects, as well as developing medical innovation centers and technology transfer initiatives.

Meir Medical Center, located in the city of Kfar Saba in the State of Israel, is one of the largest and most prestigious medical institutions. Opened to the public on July 15, 1956, initially as a hospital dedicated to treating tuberculosis and respiratory diseases, the center was transformed in the 1960s into a general hospital with extensive medical services. The hospital has more than 700 beds, numerous departments and specialized clinics, and covers multiple medical fields: cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, neurology, pediatrics and many others. It is also an important center for medical research and education.
