Energocom company of Moldova procures electricity at average price of 132 Euros/MWh in last October
The Energocom company in last October purchased about 387.3 thousand MWh of electricity at a weighted average price of 132.44 euros/MWh.
For comparison, in September 2025, around 322.9 thousand MWh of electricity was purchased at a weighted average price of 113.96 euros/MWh, while in August, the purchase price was 121.17 euros/MWh.
In October, the electricity demand was met from both domestic sources and imports.
Specifically, imports accounted for 75.43 per cent of the total volume, while energy supplied by domestic producers represented 24.57 per cent.
As much as 20.39 per cent of the total acquisitions was carried out through bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers from Romania and Ukraine, and the remaining 55.04 per cent - through the BRM (Romanian Community Exchange) and OPCOM trading platforms.
According to Energocom, the procurement costs do not include fees and expenses associated with transportation, logistics and capacity reservation.
As of January 1, 2025, the right bank of the Dniester has no longer been receiving electricity from the Kuchurgan power plant, following the suspension of natural gas deliveries to Moldova by the Russian Gazprom giant. Under these conditions, consumption is covered by domestic sources and imports.
