"The enlargement policy should be one of the key elements of the new European security architecture, with radical integration based on merit-based approaches. It is particularly important that the European Union continues its efforts to diversify energy resources and support vulnerable states. Now, time is ripe to act together, to strengthen cooperation and send a clear message: Europe's security is non-negotiable," said the head of the Commission for Foreign Policy and European Integration, Ina Coseru.

The agenda of the Interparliamentary Conference consisted of several discussion sessions related to regional and Europe-wide security. Thus, participants discussed the protection and security of the European Union, in the context of hybrid threats, which represent an external destabilizing factor for Europe.

At the same time, they discussed the development of a security framework for the EU and strengthening European defense in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Another topic discussed was the security in the Baltic Sea region and Russia's hostile attempts to change the borders of the European Union.

The Interparliamentary Conference on common foreign, security and defense policy is held twice a year, aiming to exchange experience and information on foreign and security policy.
