Moldovan parliament to hold plenary meeting on February 26; interior minister to present report to MPs
The parliament will hold a plenary meeting on February 26. The agenda of the meeting was approved by the Standing Bureau today. At the meeting, parliamentary hearings will be held on the policies and measures undertaken by the Interior Ministry (MAI) in the area of preventing and combating drug use and trafficking.
The agenda of the plenary meeting also includes the Declaration of the Parliament of Moldova on the occasion of the four-year anniversary of the large-scale military invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
At the same time, MPs will examine, in first reading, the draft law on zoos. In the second reading, they will discuss the draft amendment to the Education Code, as well as the draft law on remedies and means of appeal regarding the award of public procurement, sectoral contracts and concessions.
MPs will also discuss the parliament’s legislative programme for 2026. In addition, the parliament is to take note of the termination of Alexei Ghertescu’s mandate as Chair of the Plenum of the Competition Council and of the termination of Saskia de Vries’s mandate in the Commission for the external evaluation of the ethical and financial integrity of prosecutors.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the Standing Bureau also decided that the simple motion on the policies of the Defence Ministry in the field of national defense and ensuring the security and physical integrity of the National Army’s servicemen will be considered on March 12.
