
Ukraine's culture minister visits Ukrainian House from Chisinau
Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi today visited the Ukrainian House from Chisinau, where he met representatives of the National Congress of Ukrainians from Moldova (CNUM).
The discussions focused on the achievements of the organization in recent years, including social and cultural projects meant for Ukrainians of Moldova, as well as the need to enhance cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The President of CNUM, Dmitri Lekartsev presented the main areas of activity of the organization.
„Aid has been provided to more than 50,000 people, including refugees, ethnic Ukrainians and citizens of Moldova. More than 15 projects have been undertaken, some of which are ongoing. The CNUM team helps Ukrainians find employment, informs them about access to education, medical and social services, and supports culture, traditions and language, integrating them into the social and economic life of the country,” said Dmitri Lekartsev.
Minister Mykola Tochytskyi appreciated CNUM's work and reiterated the need to boost cultural collaboration between Ukraine and Moldova, including through the creation of a cultural interaction program tailored to the specificities of each region of Moldova.
„I am in Moldova as a good neighbor. I want to convey that Moldova is not a small country. Believe in yourselves and in your national dignity. I am in Moldova today consciously, to instill confidence and national pride,” the Ukrainian official mentioned.
For his part, Ukraine's Ambassador to Moldova Paun Rohovei highlighted the importance of the direct dialogue with members of the Ukrainian community and announced that visits would be organized in regions with a significant presence of ethnic Ukrainians. They will allow identifying the community needs and strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education of Moldova.
The event laid the foundations for partnerships aimed at supporting the integration of the Ukrainian community in Moldova and strengthening cultural relations between the two countries.
