Moldovan speaker met US senators, congressmen in Washington
Speaker Igor Grosu had discussions with US senators and congressmen in Washington.
He said he has met with senators from both US parties.
"I expressed gratitude for the assistance provided over the years, and we wish to continue a constructive relationship with the United States—a strategic partner for over 30 years," Grosu said.
He said he informed the American politicians firsthand about the processes in the Republic of Moldova, as well as in the region.
"I spoke to them about our European integration process and how important the support of American partners is, about the dangers of interference from the Russian Federation. We discussed issues related to energy security and customs tariffs. We concluded that we need to continue cooperating to help our business environment be as competitive and present as possible on international markets. I thanked them once again for the swift opening of the two consulates, an extraordinary achievement for our bilateral relations and for our diaspora," concluded Grosu.
Grosu visited the USA on 29 March - 6 April.
