Moldexpo aims to redevelop degraded area near Valea Morilor Park
A 4-hectare area near Moldexpo International Exhibition Center and Valea Morilor Park, which has been in a deplorable state for many years will be renovated and transformed into a recreational spot for residents and visitors of the capital. Acting director of Moldexpo Zinaida Popa presented the initiative today. The project includes the creation of sports fields, entertainment spaces for children and a gastronomic area for culinary exhibitions.
Currently, the site known as Aventura Parc hosts several children's amusement facilities, which have not been operational for many years. These belong to an economic agent. Zinaida Popa said that the entrepreneur has not paid any amount to the budget since 2018. Under these circumstances, the Moldexpo team gained the right to use the land a month ago, announced the auction for the removal of equipment and prepared an extensive project for developing the space.
"These four hectares of land deserve to come to life. We propose to divide them into four zones. The first is the parking area, with over 60 spaces. The food court area will be a place where we will hold gastronomic exhibitions. The next proposed zone to be developed is the one near the lake, where a sports area will be set up. We aim to create several sports fields. The intermediate area, between the sports and gastronomic delights zones will be transformed into a children's entertainment space," said Zinaida Popa.
She said that the project requires investments of several tens of millions of lei. Part of the costs will be covered by the company, while the rest of the investments will be through acquisitions and tenders, in collaboration with other economic agents.
"We appeal to potential economic agents interested in developing the area, not to remain indifferent. We appeal to local residents: please support our efforts, show patience and involvement in all these processes. We are open to constructive and consultative dialogue. All processes we aim to conduct will be with utmost fairness, in line with the legal framework, and public tenders and consultations will be held," Popa said.
The project is to be authorized by Chisinau city hall, after which redevelopment works will take place.
