Moldovan children, young people left without parental care to receive allowances for maintenance, rent during studies abroad
Children and young people left without parental care will receive allowances for maintenance and rent during their studies abroad. The government approved a draft decision to this effect today.
The initiative belongs to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MMPS) and aims to support children and young people left without parental care, who choose to continue their studies at educational institutions abroad.
Thus, the document stipulates the providing of monthly allowances for maintenance and rent, as well as financial support for expenses in the final year of studies, as well as a one-time allowance upon graduation from the educational institution. This initiative complements the current legislation and aims to provide equal conditions for all children and young people left without parental care, whether they continue their studies in the country or abroad.
“The adoption of this draft represents not only a measure of social equity, but also an investment in the future of these young people. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection stays committed to supporting all children and young people, in order to provide them with equal opportunities for education and development,” said the MMPS Secretary General, Dumitru Pislaru.
The draft is set to come into effect on September 1, 2025.
