Partnership for European integration between Moldova and Albania discussed in Brussels
The stages of accession negotiations that the Republic of Moldova and Albania are undergoing, as well as the best practices that can be adopted in the process of European integration in Brussels have been discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov with Albania's Ambassador to the European Union Ferit Hoxha.
“We have a good partnership with Albania, based on cooperation and mutual trust,” stated Cristina Gherasimov.
Based on the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in last May, a group of civil servants from the institutions in charge of the chapters 23 and 24 are paying a study visit to Albania this week. The purpose of this visit is to learn from the experience of Albania colleagues and to better understand the negotiation process for joining the European Union.
“Together, we are working for a better future in the EU for our citizens,” the deputy prime minister added.
Albania officially applied for EU membership in 2009 and got the status of candidate status in June 2014, following a comprehensive process of domestic reforms and recommendations of the European Commission.
