Moldovan PM in Causeni says government to invest in each settlement

The support provided by the government for projects on settlements’ modernization and current priorities of the cabinet have been discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and local authorities of the Causeni district.

The PM emphasized that, over the past four years, the government had allocated over 380 million lei for implementing projects in about 48 localities of the Causeni district. The efforts of the authorities in this regard will continue, noted the prime minister. He specified that the district would receive 251 million lei this year for roads’ renovation and 12 more localities would have access to water and sewage systems.

"These are projects long-awaited by people for decades, bringing comfort, better services, and a safe future here at home. We will continue to invest in each settlement, so that citizens feel the support of the state and the benefits of a European Moldova," said the PM.

According to Prime Minister Dorin Recean, through the European Village Programme, 20 km of water pipelines, 20 km of sewage networks, a pumping station, and a treatment plant have been constructed in Causeni, benefiting the city of Causeni and 10 other localities of the district. At the same time, 647 families from the Causeni district have used EcoVouchers to purchase refrigerators or washing machines.

Also, the healthcare system in the district has benefited from 54 million lei over the last 3 years. The Causeni district hospital has been endowed with modern, state-of-the-art equipment and a primary center for stroke patients was inaugurated. At the same time, more sections of the hospital's Emergency Reception Unit and maternity wards have been renovated and equipped, the Colposcopy Center was inaugurated, and with support from external partners, the Causeni District Hospital was also equipped with photovoltaic panels.

As for education, Prime Minister Dorin Recean emphasized the endowment with equipment, furniture and teaching materials of five schools and six kindergartens He highlighted that the Mihai Eminescu Theoretical Lyceum would be modernized and become a model school, and seven schools will receive funds for the renovation of sanitary blocks.

The mayors present at the meeting underlined the importance of expanding investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure and other important areas that directly contribute to improving the citizens' standard of living.
