Moldovan foreign affairs minister visits Kazakhstan

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi, during his visit to Kazakhstan, visited an ice cream factory that is part of a joint venture with Moldovan capital.

In the Kazakh market, the enterprise has been active since 2008 and represents a successful model of expanding a brand originating from Moldova into an external market. It has around 2,000 employees in Kazakhstan, including Moldovan citizens, and the investments made so far have exceeded 50 million euros.

“It is a pride to see how a company from Moldova becomes a significant player in a major regional economy. JLC is proof that the Moldovan entrepreneurship can compete and excel on an international scale,” said Minister Mihai Popsoi.

The deputy PM visited the factory's production units, where he became acquainted with the range of products and the technological process. The factory produces traditional dairy products, ice cream and other frozen goods appreciated on the local market.

The general director, Moldovan Iurie Jardan said that the company's turnover, in the year 2024, had exceeded 80 million euros. The enterprise is endowed with modern equipment, allowing for automated control of the production process, and the company continues to invest in expanding its capacities.

“It is a great honor for our company to represent Moldova in Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan in Moldova through the products we provide. We responsibly assume the role of a bridge between the two countries, by developing sustainable and trust-based commercial relations. Our products meet the highest quality standards and meet consumers’ expectations,” stated Iurie Jardan.

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi is paying an official visit to Kazakhstan on July 1-3, at an invitation by his Kazakh counterpart, Murat Nurtleu.
