
Chairs of Nordic and Baltic Foreign Affairs Committees on visit to Chisinau
Chairs of Nordic and Baltic Foreign Affairs Committees (NB8) will pay a joint visit to the Republic of Moldova on 31 March - 1 April. Discussions will focus on regional foreign and security policy issues, as well as the challenges faced by Moldova in the EU accession process.
According to the agenda, the officials will meet with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu. At the Parliament, they have planned a meeting with deputy speaker Doina Gherman.
The officials will have a joint discussion with the head of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Commission, Ina Coșeru, the head of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Commission, Lilian Carp, and the head of the special commission for monitoring and parliamentary control on implementation of Moldova's reintegration policy, Roman Roșca. The agenda includes discussions with deputy speaker Vlad Batrîncea, Chairman of the Communist and Socialist Bloc Fraction.
On Monday, the officials will make statements to the media.
The agenda also includes discussions with civil society. On Tuesday, European officials will go to Gagauzia to meet with local public authorities' representatives.
NB8 is a regional cooperation format that brings together eight states: Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden. The forum's competencies include current regional and international issues.
