VIDEO // Parliament speaker says Moldova walks with head held high on European path; it is not easy, but it is right
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has delivered an end-of-year message to citizens, highlighting that the year 2025 was a challenging one, marked by difficulties, but also important progress for the country, both internally and on the European trajectory.
"2025 was a year of resilience, in which Moldova managed to protect its statehood, cope with destabilization attempts and show that it is a strong and determined society," Igor Grosu said.
The official noted that, despite attempts to divide people and create tensions in society, the country had moved forward and opened new development opportunities.
"If 2025 was a year of resilience, then I wish for 2026 to be a year of consolidation and development. Moldova is no longer at the stage of wanting to be, but at the stage of having the courage to become. The path is not easy, but the direction is clear," the parliament speaker stressed.
Igor Grosu emphasized that Moldova was stronger and more respected internationally today and that it continued its path "with its head held high" towards European integration. He also thanked the citizens for the unity, solidarity, and mutual trust proved throughout the year.
In his message, the speaker also sent greetings on the occasion of the winter holidays, encouraging people to enjoy rest, time spent with loved ones and peace in their families and throughout the country.
"I sincerely wish you a well-deserved rest, warmth in all families and peace throughout the country. Happy New Year and bright and joyous holidays with your loved ones," Igor Grosu added.
