
Chișinău hosts first Moldova – European Union bilateral summit
On 4 July, the first Moldova – European Union bilateral summit will be held at the State Residence in Chișinău, marking a key moment in the European path of the Republic of Moldova. The event is organized under the auspices of President Maia Sandu and reflects the firm commitment of Chișinău authorities to Moldova's accession to the European Union.
Representing our country at the summit will be President Maia Sandu, Speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean. On behalf of the European Union, European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will be present.
The summit will take place between 17:00 and 20:00.

- 13:00 – 16:15: Access for accredited journalists to the summit area
- 17:15 – 17:40: Arrival of officials and protocol images outside
- 17:40: Official photo in front of the State Residence
- 17:40 – 18:00: Tête-à-tête discussions
- 18:00 – 19:00: Summit proceedings
- 19:00 – 19:30: Joint press conference in front of the Residence
The summit discussions will focus on essential topics for the future of the Republic of Moldova and partnership with the European Union. Key issues include Moldova's EU accession process, European support in the context of the war in Ukraine, and the implementation of the Growth Plan for Moldova. Additionally, strengthening trade relations, cooperation in security and defense, energy transition, digital transformation, and facilitating people-to-people contacts will be addressed.
The event will conclude around 19:45.
