Moldovan parliament speaker in Dublin: ''Only united and in solidarity, we will manage to preserve peace and our path to European integration''
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu on 30 June-3 July paid a working visit to Ireland, where he met Moldovans living in Dublin and its surroundings – students, entrepreneurs and active community members.
During the meetings, the discussions focused on the political and economic situation in Moldova, the fight against the Russian propaganda, the country's European path and reforms in education, health and energy infrastructure sectors.
‘’As always, I am impressed – hardworking, involved people, united and most importantly, connected to everything happening back home, in Moldova. Only united and in solidarity, we will manage to preserve peace and our path to European integration,’’ said Igor Grosu.
The parliament speaker also met Moldovan students pursuing programs in IT, biochemistry or management in Ireland. The young people appreciated the transformations in Moldovan education and the opportunities arising from European integration.
Another significant component of the visit was the dialogue with successful Moldovan entrepreneurs residing in Ireland. Among them, there are brothers Sergiu and Lilian Munteanu, founders of the Moldova Shop chain with 26 stores, and Mihai Mazilu, leader of a top IT company with over 25,000 clients worldwide, now also active in Moldova.
‘’What I understood from the discussions with these successful businessmen is that our Moldovans are appreciated and respected here in Ireland, and through their work, they greatly contribute to the positive image of Moldova,’’ the parliament speaker noted stressed.
