
Germany provides Moldova with 5.5 million euros for strategic projects
The government of the Federal Republic of Germany will provide Moldova with non-reimbursable financial assistance amounting to 5.512 million euros. The support will be offered through the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and will support three strategic projects in the fields of European integration, combating disinformation and water infrastructure in the border region with Ukraine.
The members of the parliament's Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission today approved the advisory opinion for initiating negotiations and signing the bilateral treaty.
According to the document, the grant will be directed as follows: one million euros for the project, Support for European Union Integration, aimed at strengthening the capacities of institutions involved in the process of aligning with the EU acquis.
About 1.5 million euros will be allocated for the Info Trust Alliance Moldova project, which will contribute to combating disinformation and strengthening social resilience. As much as 3.012 million euros is meant for the project, Support in Mitigating the Impact of the War on Water Supply and Sanitation in Moldova's Border Region with Ukraine.
After the signing, the technical cooperation treaty between the two governments will be submitted to parliament for ratification.
