Moldova represented at high-level meeting of IMF Constituency, World Bank Group

Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) Anca Dragu leads the official delegation of Moldova at the high-level meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Constituency and the World Bank Group (WBG), held in Luxembourg on July 2-4.

The event is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Finance of Luxembourg and the Central Bank of Luxembourg. Discussions will focus on fiscal policies in the current geopolitical context, challenges related to infrastructure investments, as well as the dual transition: climate change and digital transformation.

“The Constituency’s meeting is a valuable forum for strategic reflection and exchange of experience among member countries. In the context of Moldova's European path, active participation in this format contributes to strengthening relations with our international partners and promoting a common vision for sustainable, secure and inclusive development,” stated Anca Dragu.

According to BNM, on the sidelines of the event, Anca Dragu will have meetings with high-ranking officials from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, the European Commission, as well as her counterparts from other central banks, in order to deepen multilateral cooperation and support reforms in the financial and banking sector of Moldova.

Moldova has been a member of the Constituency led by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Belgium since August 12, 2012, along with Andorra, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Georgia, Israel, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Romania and Ukraine.

In 2024, the Constituency’s meeting took place in Chisinau, marking a premiere for Moldova and providing a platform for international dialogue on financial and sustainable development issues.
