Yellow heatwave warning for July 4, valid for all over Moldova
The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has issued a yellow heatwave warning for July 4, 2025, valid throughout the country. According to forecasts, the maximal air temperatures will reach up to +35°C, especially in the southern and central regions.
Meteorologists say that the heatwave will be most intense between 12:00 and 18:00 when the thermal discomfort index will be high. Specialists warn that this heatwave period may impact public health, particularly affecting children, the elderly and individuals with chronic conditions.
The authorities recommend that people avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, stay properly hydrated, wear light, light-colored clothing and limit intense physical exertion during the day.
At the same, it's important to avoid consumption of alcohol, keep homes well-ventilated and pay close attention to vulnerable individuals in the community.
Farmers are advised to take protective measures for crops and animals directly exposed to solar radiation and local authorities are urged to ensure they are prepared to intervene, if needed.
