Public Order and Security Program approved by Government: faster interventions, more patrol teams in villages, increased online safety
Citizen safety at home, in public spaces and online will increase. The Government approved today the Public Order and Security Program for 2026-2030.
The program aims to reduce the response time to 112 calls from 32 to 15 minutes and increase the number of patrol teams, especially in rural areas. Another objective is the reorganization of the police by region to reduce administrative costs and enhance the presence of crews in communities. Law enforcement bodies will be provided with modern equipment and trained for rapid and professional interventions, including in crisis situations.
“Every citizen must feel protected regardless of the region they live in. Police activity will be closer to the community, and investments in digitalization and interoperability will allow for better coordination among authorities,” Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin said.
The document emphasizes respect for human rights, protection of vulnerable groups, and combating violence. Women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities will benefit from dedicated protection and support measures.
An innovation in the program is the inclusion of current areas such as digital safety, protection of critical infrastructure, and combating hate speech online.
This is the fifth program approved by the Government for the implementation of the Internal Affairs Development Strategy for 2022-2030.
