EBA Business Outlook 2025 // Moldovan deputy PM for European integration says 1.9- billion-euros-worth support of EU to help national economy grow

The accession to the European Union (EU) opens new opportunities for the sustainable development of Moldova's economy. The 1.9- billion-euros-worth  support due to be provided by EU in the next three years will help the national economy grow, create new jobs and increase wages. Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov discussed the country's economic development prospects in the process of European integration during the fourth edition of the EBA Business Outlook 2025.

The deputy PM says Moldova presently has an 'extraordinary' opportunity to transform its economy and EU’s financial assistance will be felt by its citizens.

‘’The €1.9 billion support that the EU will provide over the next three years will help the national economy grow, contribute to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, create new jobs, incerase productivity and wages. It will also help companies become more competitive and prepare to compete on the European single market with quality products and services,’’ Gherasimov wrote on her Facebook account.

Gherasimov spoke in the presence of over 100 business representatives about Moldova's European path, the current stage of the country and how all economic perspectives can be used.

The event brought together officials from Moldova and the EU, local and international experts, as well as entrepreneurs. They discussed the EU accession process, macroeconomic and financial outlook, energy security and trends for business development and attracting investments. Minister of Economic Development and Digitization Dumitru Alaiba noted that proximity to the EU was already bringing concrete benefits to our country. These include extended access to the European market, new financing opportunitie, and higher standards, making businesses more competitive.

EBA Business Outlook 2025 today was organized in Chisinau by the European Business Association in Moldova (EBA Moldova), with financial support of the European Union.
