Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is attending an informal meeting of the European Union General Affairs Council on 18 February in Warsaw. The event gathers high-ranking officials of EU member states and candidate countries, providing an ideal framework to discuss current challenges, including hybrid threats targeting the country's stability and European path.

“We talked about the efforts we are making to combat manipulation, strengthen our resilience and security, and defend our democracy. Disinformation and use of energy as a weapon are real challenges for both authorities and citizens. However, we remain firmly committed to the European path we embarked on almost three years ago,” Gherasimov said.

The official said that the Republic of Moldova benefits from the continuous support of the European Union institutions and member states to advance its European path and become an EU member state.

“The message of the meeting is clear: Moldova is not alone,” concluded Gherasimov.

On February 17-21, Gherasimov is on a working visit to Poland. The agenda of this visit includes signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine on European integration, as well as meetings with Paweł Graś, head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk.
